The week at The Summit School ended well with a story telling session for the Kindergarten and Primary sections. Ms. Shreya chose two wonderful and funny stories for both the groups. She chose ‘My Grandfather's Funny Eyebrows’ for the Kindergartner. The children had a fun time enjoying the story and also they drew some funny eyebrows and pasted them on their forehead as a part of the activity. Students from the Primary section came to know about the invisible ink, when Ms. Shreya narrated to them the story of ‘The Magic Letter’. Later they wrote letters to their best friends.

Children’s day was celebrated with full fervor at our school on 14th of November. This day which is also the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India is celebrated as a tribute to him. He was known for his relentless effort to increase awareness of the rights, care and education of children. The teachers organised a fun-filled day for the students by organizing a class picnic and an extravaganza filled with music, dance and some fun filled activities. Students were elated to see their teachers up on stage performing and celebrating the day with zeal and enthusiasm.

Keeping in view the secular ethos of The Summit School, we celebrated and rejoiced in the spirit of the festival Guru Nanak Jayanti on 12th November,2019 A special assembly was conducted to mark the occasion and bring home the relevance of the festival to our young generation. Guru Nanak Jayanti which marks the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru was celebrated with élan in the school premises through a short speech presented by the students followed by singing the Shabad Gurbani by a choir from Class III.

The Summit School observed its Little Scholars Fair this year on 25th October and as usual it was applauded by one and all. The various corners attracted the crowd with the social science corner being the centre of attraction which took us as far as to the Harappan Culture. Similarly the rocket-model of Science needs to be mentioned too. English corner was famed for the Human-models where we found Shylock and the famous court scene. The Mathematics Corner made us hopeful that mathematics could be taught in an exciting way too. The little ones from the preprimary section were no lesser. While the nursery kids gave us information about healthy and junk foods through their models, the LKG students showcased different types of houses around the globe. The UKG students on the other hand told us about the unity in diversity as they came up with the theme of colourful festivals celebrated in India. The most eye-catching exhibit was that of the pretty children, dressed up as animals from the jungle and Bingo's farm who enacted a small skit on the types of animals based on their habitat.

Durga puja is one of the most awaited festival. The beginning of “Devipakkha” is marked by Mahalaya, which shows how and why the Goddess was created, and how the good wins over the evil. This was being portrayed by the little ones at The Summit School, where they enacted parts from the Mahalaya and welcomed the homecoming of Goddess Durga with songs and dances.

The children of pre-primary at The Summit School took a trip under the sea to meet with all the amazing and wonderful sea creatures. Nursery and play group kids dressed up as divers and along with their facilitators, met their friends from the sea, Mr. Octopus, Miss. Lobster and many more portrayed by the students of L.Kg and U.Kg. They also learnt about the importance of water and the need to save water.

The students from classes I to IX participated in this competition. The blooming birds of TSS manifested their creativity in the form of beautiful, vibrant kites made out of coloured papers and decorated them ardently. They thoroughly enjoyed the activity and it reflected on their smiling faces. This was also a part of the workshop for life skills.

Lucky are the ones who have their grandparent! It’s such a wonderful bonding and relation between a grandchild and a grandparent. This bonding was observed on Grandparent’s Day celebration at The Summit School, where the students performed along with their Grandfather/Grandmother. It was such a joy to see the grandparents match tunes and groove along with their grandchildren. Some of them even shared memories from their childhood/schooldays. The students handed over cards made by them to their grandparents.

This competition was held as an integral part of the co-curricular activities. The creative minds were encouraged to sketch their vivid imagination on black t-shirt and paint them accordingly. The enthusiastic students decorated the t-shirts with glitters and sparkles.

The students of TSS are always excited about the teachers’ day celebration. This year they planned for a secret mimicry which was indeed appreciable. The teachers of TSS are proud to have such lovingly children.They also showcased their talents through dance and songs as well.
