Hindi diwas is celebrated to pay tribute to the official language of India.Hindi was adopted as the official language by the Constituent Assembly on September 14,1949.The celebration of Hindi Diwas stands as patriotic reminder to the Indians of their common roots. The Summit School marked this special day with a series of fun and educational activities designed to introduce our young learners to the beauty and significance of the Hindi language. The day began with a warm welcome by the teachers, who introduced the children to the significance of Hindi Diwas in a simple and relatable way. The teachers had beautifully decorated the hall area with charts for propagating the language and arousing patriotic feelings.The children had recited Hindi rhymes and a song was also melodiously sung by the pre-primary teachers. The event not only introduced them with Hindi but also fostered a sense of cultural appreciation and inclusivity. We look forward to continuing such celebrations in the future to enrich our pre-primary learning experiences.
Grandparents’ Day at The Summit School in pre-primary school is a heartwarming event that celebrates the special bond between young children and their grandparents. The day was filled with joy and excitement as the school organized activities to honour the love, wisdom, and care that grandparents bring into their grandchildren’s lives. The event began with a warm welcome, followed by cultural performances like rhymes, songs, or dances by the children, specially prepared for their grandparents. Interactive activities such as together, storytelling sessions, or fun games prepared by the Educators further strengthen the connection between generations. The day concluded with small tokens of appreciation, like handmade cards crafted by the children. This celebration not only fosters respect for elders but also creates lasting memories of love and togetherness.
A concept day celebrated at The Summit School in primary section engages a unique and engaging event centered around a specific theme or idea, designed to enhance students’ understanding through creative and hands-on learning experiences. These events often include a variety of interactive sessions, such as model making projects, role-playing and experiments. The aim is to make learning fun and memorable while encouraging students to think critically and apply their knowledge in innovative ways. On concept day the session was centered on “Landforms” which involved students learning about identifying and learning various landforms, demonstrating practical knowledge and understanding of geographical concepts. They appreciated the diversity of landforms and shared their knowledge with peers using descriptive language and examples. Teachers often collaborate to create a multidisciplinary approach, integrating subjects like science, art, and literature into the theme. By breaking away from traditional classroom routines, concept days inspire curiosity and creativity, leaving a lasting impact on students’ learning journeys.
At our pre-primary school, the celebration of Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna, was a joyous and colourful event filled with fun, learning, and enthusiasm. The little ones, dressed as Lord Krishna in vibrant traditional clothes. They were excited to participate in activities that brought the story of Lord Krishna to life. The programme commenced with a special assembly, where the children were introduced to the story of Krishna’s birth, his playful childhood, and his mischievous acts, like stealing butter and playing the flute. Teachers narrated the tale in an engaging way, accompanied by lively music, creating an atmosphere of celebration and devotion. The children then enjoyed crafting activities, making little flutes, decorating pots, and creating Krishna’s footprints using coloured powders. These activities allowed them to connect with the festival through creativity and imagination. The celebration not only brought the story of Krishna to life but also instilled a sense of culture and togetherness in the children.The children left with happy faces and a deeper understanding of the significance of Janmashtami. The celebration not only taught them about Lord Krishna but also encouraged values of teamwork, creativity, and cultural appreciation.

Abdul Kalam’s inspiring words resonate deeply with the essence of Independence Day celebrations at our school. It was a vibrant and memorable event, marked by patriotism and unity. The program began with the hoisting of the national flag by our Principal Mrs. Banerjee accompanied by the singing of the national anthem, which filled everyone’s hearts with pride. A speech was addressed by her where she expressed thoughts on India’s journey to independence and its progress over the years. The students showcased their talents through a variety of performances, including patriotic songs and dances that highlighted the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. The highlight of the day was a parade showcasing the importance of unity in diversity. The school campus was adorned with tricolor decorations, creating an inspiring atmosphere of celebration. The celebration ended with a pledge to uphold the values of our nation and a vote of thanks.
The academic year of session 2019-20 ended with a colourful note through celebration of Basant Utsav and Holi, as a part of the Special Assembly on 28th February 2020. The Pre-Primary, Primary and Middle School actively participated in this short program. These events were celebrated during the morning assembly, where the students gave a speech about the importance and relevance of the events in our life. It was followed by a short cultural program combined with songs and dance.
A work education workshop was conducted on 22nd February 2020 in The Summit School to develop the motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness of the students. The students of the Primary and Middle School participated in the workshop. The participants took active part in the program as was evident in their enthusiasm, their involvement in all the activities, their active response as well as the cooperation, their discipline and punctuality throughout the program. They had learnt to create flower-pots, design making and wall hanging during the session.
In order to encourage national “unity†The Summit School has celebrated “The Matribhasa Diwas†on February 21st 2020, as a special assembly celebration. The idea behind celebrating such a day is to inspire solidarity based on understanding, tolerance and dialogue. The day was celebrated to understand the importance of using mother tongue and to promote, disseminate and create full awareness about linguistic and cultural traditions throughout the world, The students gave intensive speech and promoted the importance of their mother tongue and sang in chorus, rejoicing the language festival in school. Thus, encouraging unity and broad-mindedness amongst themselves.
The much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on Friday, 7th February 2020, with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the School captain. An energizing March Past was display to set the tone for the rest of the events. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. The children of Play-Group participated in ‘go- as- you- like’. While the other Pre-Primary students participated in caterpillar race, ready-for school race, wear-the -cap race and water-the-plant race and so on. Students of classes 1 to 9 competed in events including needle and thread race , sprints, relays, sack race and balance race. It was indeed a superb day to end with.
On 31st January 2019, at Summit School was a day of fun and frolic for the Pre-Primary kids, as they celebrated their annual school picnic on the school ground. The children were seen matching their steps with fun music, playing badminton and other games. The best part was when the kids prepared pasta salad and papri chat along with their teachers and enjoyed the food to the fullest.
